Fort McMurray 468 First Nation (FM468FN) is a Cree and Chipewyan band government located near Fort McMurray, Alberta.

It is a Treaty 8 Nation and member of the Athabasca Tribal Council (ATC), which represents five First Nation bands in northeast Alberta.

Fort McMurray First Nation is governed by a Chief and two councillors:

The Fort McMurray 468 First Nation was part of the same band as Fort McKay First Nation until 1942.
FM468FN is four reserves about 31 sq km (12 sq mi), including:

  • Clearwater 175 is an unpopulated reserve located on the Clearwater River, located 11 km (6.8 mi) southeast of Fort McMurray.

  • Gregoire Lake 176, located 35 km (22 mi) southeast of Fort McMurray, is the largest of the four reserves and the most populated with 274 residents in 2011 and 191 in 2016.

  • Gregoire Lake 176A is populated with 130 residents in 2016, up from zero in 2011.

  • Gregoire Lake 176B is not populated.

Reserves 176, 176A, and 176B are located near Anzac on Gregoire Lake approximately 50 km (31 mi) southeast of Fort McMurray.


Our Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP)

In 2012, our Chief and Council proudly adopted our Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP) through a Nation bylaw. Through this bylaw, present and future Chief and Councils will use the CCP to inform future decision-making, expand service delivery, access funding and programs, and improve the quality of life for our people.
